Hello there.

I'm Lucas Norbury and I've been training in Ju Jitsu since I was just a little over five years old. It's been an incredible journey.

Ju Jitsu and Budo Academy are more than just activities for me - they keep me in great shape and have introduced me to a whole bunch of amazing new friends. I enjoy training at Shinpo Martial Arts because of its warm and inclusive atmosphere.

​

One of my favourite roles is being a Junior Leader. I like helping out the younger students to perfect their moves, offering support when they're finding things a bit tricky.

​

When it comes to moves, the Spring Hip Throw is my favourite. It's quite technical, but when you get it right, it's not only effective but also loads of fun to execute.

Sensei’s Notes

Lucas has been with me since the early days, way back when we were training at Buckshaw Village Community Centre. And from that very first class he’s stood out for his focus, discipline and attitude. He’s one of my longest-standing students and has worked his way through every single child and adult Ju Jitsu grade with complete dedication. Now well on his journey towards his Adult Black Belt, Lucas also holds a Black Belt in Budo and gives up his time to help the Budo team develop their skills.

 

He was our very first Kata Champion and continues to rise to every challenge with a smile on his face. A true leader by example and an incredible role model for both our students and our junior leaders.
